Dynamic PSP is an evolutionary extension of Oracle PSP (PL/SQL server pages) technology. It plugs into Oracle-8i RDBMS and provides a comfortable browser-based framework for rapid Internet applications development, using Oracle s native programming language - PL/SQL. Supporting all features of Oracle PSP, Dynamic PSP adds web-based development environment, dynamic scri`pt execution and compilation. It also extends PSP with a number of embedded functions and procedures for flow control, profiling and debugging. Dynamic PSP eliminates the need for intermediary steps, like source code re-uploading and recompilation, which are usually necessary with file-based server-side scri`pting solutions when changes to a project are made, allowing the user to see the effect of the changes immediately.PSP technology is based on embedding PL/SQL code into HTML source, much like other server-side scri`pting technologies, like PHP, ASP and JSP. Using PL/SQL for Oracle-based web applications makes development much easier in comparison with JSP, for example. Dynamic PSP is implemented as a set of PL/SQL packages, so it works everywhere Oracle does, including Windows NT/2000 and various versions of Unix and Unix-like operating systems.
