SkyMap Pro is CD-ROM software that it contains more than 550MB of data. Due to the amount of data, it.s impractical to make the complete package available for download. Instead, the company has put together this demonstration version of the product. The demonstration version of SkyMap Pro 8.0 is 9.2MB in size, and comprises the program and manual, together with a small database of 30,000 stars (down to magnitude 7.5) and 10,000 deep sky objects. It runs entirely from hard disk, occupying 15MB of hard disk space when installed. he program is fully functional, with the following exceptions: The observing log and observation planning tools are not present and the solar eclipse maps are not available, although local circumstances of solar eclipses are available. SkyMap Pro is the winner of the 2000 Shareware Industry Award for Best Hobby or Personal Interest Program.
